The Rumors About Our Beaches Have Been Greatly Exaggerated ~ Sarasota/Bradenton FL is NOT affected by the Oil Spill

For our first blog post, we want to touch on the topic that’s on everyone’s mind right now – the oil spill – and in particular, how it’s affecting life on Florida’s Gulf Coast.

We want to let you know what’s really going on in Sarasota. The truth -- not the media hype. Since we live and work here, we see it firsthand.

Here’s what we see pictured above. This photo was taken by a resident of Anna Maria Island a few days ago. From the looks of things, people are still swimming and wading in gorgeous clear blue water. The beaches are the same “pristine sugar white sand” you read about in travel literature. In other words, Bradenton/Sarasota has not been affected by the oil spill.

We’re devastated to see what’s happening in other areas along the Gulf. But the data we’re seeing gives us no reason to believe Florida’s Southwest coast will be affected. So if you’ve always wanted to buy a home in Sarasota-Bradenton, come on down and see for yourself.

And you may want to watch this video from the Today Show, where Today’s Real Estate commentator, realtor Barbara Corcoran, rates Sarasota, FL #1 in Top 10 Cities to Buy (thank you, Michael Saunders for posting the video on your blog).

We’d like to share some resources where you can find the latest FACTUAL information regarding the oil spill:
